95% of people don't know this...
According to Dr Naram in the book “Ancient secrets of a master healer”:
95% of people do not know what they want. This was a huge ahah moment. Of course that makes sense! How do we get anywhere specific in life without an intention or direction?
This is a great example of how people go through life complaining about their problems but not actually creating or focusing on what they want. Without a clear intention or goal you might as well say “Hey, I’ll have whatever you give me please.”
High performance coach Peter Sage uses the example of going to a train station and the ticket salesperson says, “Hi, where would you like to go?” and you reply “I don't know, anywhere but here!” The ticket salesperson says, “I’m sorry I can’t help you, because you need a destination before you can buy a ticket.”
Since reading the book Ancient secrets of a master healer, I decided to ask all of my clients this simple question - "What do you want?" Its been a game changer but wow, Dr Naram was right, a lot of people aren’t clear at all and answer with something like, “I don’t know… I just want to be better than this.”
I realised that most people just tell me all their problems but don’t explain to me what they want or what they want to be able to do. Well, chances are that you're not going to get far with that little specificity.
Interestingly, I have noticed that when someone is clear on what they want they tend to get better results! By defining what they want they are driving a stake in the ground and setting the rules. A shining light in the distance to head towards. For example: I want to run up the local mountain again, even though my body hasn't allowed me to do that for years!
By making a specific intention or goal, your intuition can kick in and tell you if you're on the right track or not. All of a sudden life tends to guide you to your destination and fall in your favor. You begin meeting the right people that have the very thing you need to help you. Things can happen a whole lot faster than we think. This is when coincidences and synchronicities seem to come into play.
What do I want?
What do I want to be able to do?
How do I want to feel?
Don't hold back here! Give yourself permission to get a little outrageous with your goals. Write it down and ask for it. If you feel some internal resistance going on inside when you make your goals, follow that up with saying - "I'm Allowed" - Then get to it.
Make goals that are outside your comfort zone. That's where the real growth happens. What we get in life is limited to the level of our imagination, vision, beliefs and what we ask for :)
